How to set up Automatic Free Shipping on Squarespace

In this video, I will show you how to set up automatic free shipping for orders over a certain price on your Squarespace website. To use this feature, you will need the Commerce Advanced plan. I will guide you through the process of creating a new discount and configuring the settings. No discount “code” is required for automatic free shipping. You can customize the minimum order amount and choose whether to apply it to all shipping options or just one. Watch the video to learn how to implement this feature and enhance your online store.

The tutorial is a quick 2 minutes, but if you’d like written instructions instead, here you go:

  • Login to your Squarespace website

  • Click Selling in the left sidebar

  • Click Discounts

  • Click the plus button to add a new discount

  • Give your discount a name (ex: Automatic Free Shipping)

  • Set Trigger to “Automatic Discount”

  • Upgrade to Squarespace Commerce Advanced plan (if you haven’t already)

  • Set Promotion to “Free Shipping”

  • Set Applies to “Orders Over”

  • Enter price point

  • Select shipping rate(s) that you want to apply this automatic free shipping to

  • Customize limits and expiration options if preferred

  • Click Save

This tutorial was inspired by a Squarespace consult call I had today. After working through connecting her Square account to her Squarespace website so she can sell her products in person, she asked about setting automatic free shipping for her online customers with orders over $100. So, shoutout to Kathy for inspiring this how to video!

If you would like to talk to a real human (me, Katherine) about Squarespace, feel free to schedule your own 1 hour Zoom consult call here. I’ve been using the Squarespace platform since 2016 and am a “Squarespace Expert” and “Squarespace Authorized Trainer.” And as great as I think the Squarespace Chat Support is, I know sometimes it can be frustrating to just be sent to a forum article for an answer rather than have someone actually walk you through step by step on your own website. That’s what I’m here to help you do!
