    What is a QR Code?

You’ve most likely seen QR codes on advertisements or restaurant menus over the past few years, but these unique image-based links have become a core pillar of easy marketing that uses everyone’s phone cameras as a possible way to get eyeballs on your website. Generating these images can be incredibly useful, but since many QR generators have either a limit to the amount you can make or are paywalled, it’s so nice to be able to create these codes directly within Squarespace, so we’ll quickly go over how to do that.

Generating QR Codes for Your Website

In your website’s edit mode, click on ‘pages’, and once you’ve decided the page you want to generate your QR code for:

    • Click on that page’s gear icon to get into ‘settings’.

    • Within settings, under the ‘general’ tag, scroll down until you see an option for ‘QR Code’ with a toggle next to the text.

    • Click that toggle, and Squarespace will immediately create a code that you can click on to download into your computer’s downloads folder.

That’s it! It’s truly that easy, and this is probably the simplest tutorial I’ve ever made for you all.

What Can You Do With a QR Code?

With this QR code image, you can use it in any number of print or digital marketing, and when people scan that code with their phone cameras, they’ll immediately be sent to whichever page you’ve chosen! Sometimes you want to send your audience to your home page, but if you’re offering a specific service or have a time-sensitive event, QR codes can be a great way to specifically draw attention to those aspects of your website and business.

You can use these QR codes wherever you create your marketing materials, such as Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, or any number of digital tools.

Now that you know how to create QR codes for any page on your Squarespace website, maybe look into how to use the other new features Squarespace has rolled out such as new text effects and animations or how to make blog posts on your site that you can send those QR codes to!
