(Re)connecting Squarespace and Google Sheets
About this Squarespace video tutorial
When someone fills out a form on your Squarespace website, their information is typically emailed to you (if you’ve enabled email notifications). But if you want an organized backup of all your submissions, linking your form to Google Sheets is the way to go.
Today, we'll be discussing how to gather Squarespace Form data into one centralized Google Sheets document, and how to reconnect your account if you had issues following a recent Squarespace update!
With this setup, every form submission is automatically stored in a Google Sheet—so you can easily track, filter, and manage the data over time.

How to Connect Squarespace Forms to Google Sheets
Step 1: Open Your Form Settings
Navigate to your Squarespace website and go to the page where your form is located.
Click Edit on the form block.
Select the Storage tab.
Step 2: Enable Email Notifications (Optional but Recommended)
Under Storage, you’ll see the option to receive form submissions via email.
Enter your email address if you want a backup copy of each form submission.
Step 3: Connect to Google Drive
In the Storage tab, go to Additional Storage and select Google Drive.
Click Connect and sign in with your Google account.
After connecting, name your spreadsheet (e.g., “Contact Form Submissions”).
Click Save, and a new Google Sheet will be automatically created in your Google Drive.
Now, every time someone submits a form on your website, the data will be saved directly in this spreadsheet!
Troubleshooting: What to Do If Your Squarespace Form Stops Syncing with Google Sheets
If your form was working fine but suddenly stopped saving submissions to Google Drive, you’re not alone. Squarespace made a change recently that required users to disconnect and reconnect their forms. But there’s one extra step that many people miss!
Here’s how to fix it:
Step 1: Disconnect Your Form from Google Drive
Go back to your Squarespace form settings.
In the Storage tab, find your connected Google Sheet and click Disconnect.
💡 Important: When you reconnect, Squarespace will create a brand-new spreadsheet—you won’t be able to use the old one. If you want to keep all your past data in one place, manually copy and paste the old submissions into the new sheet.
Step 2: Remove Squarespace from Google Drive Settings
Open Google Drive and go to Settings.
Click Manage Apps.
Find Squarespace in the list and click Disconnect from Drive.
👉 This step is crucial! If you don’t remove Squarespace from Google Drive settings, your form won’t reconnect properly.
Step 3: Reconnect Your Form to a New Google Sheet
Return to your Squarespace website and open your form settings.
In Storage > Additional Storage, connect Google Drive again.
Sign in to your Google account and allow permissions.
Name the new spreadsheet and Save.
Your form submissions should now sync correctly again!
One Last Tip: Double-Check Your Google Account
If you followed these steps and your form is still not working, there’s a good chance you’re logged into the wrong Google account.
This happened to a client of mine—they had multiple Google accounts and were trying to reconnect their form with the wrong one. Once we used the correct account, everything started working instantly.
So before you troubleshoot further, make sure you're logged into the Google account that originally connected to Squarespace!
Final Thoughts
Connecting Squarespace forms to Google Sheets is a simple but powerful way to keep your data organized. And if your form ever stops syncing, now you know exactly how to reset the connection and get things running again.
