Squarespace Plans Overview

If you're considering Squarespace for your website, you're probably wondering about the different plans and their pricing. With my experience launching over 250 client websites, I’ve guided many people to the right Squarespace plan. Let’s dive into everything you need to know.

Squarespace offers four main plans: Personal, Business, Basic Commerce, and Advanced Commerce. You can choose to pay monthly or annually, with annual plans offering a discounted rate. Here’s a closer look at each plan:

1. Personal Plan

  • Ideal for individuals or small projects.

  • Limited to 2 contributors (administrators).

  • No custom coding or analytics.

  • Includes mobile optimization, access to all templates, and a free custom domain with annual payment.

  • No e-commerce features (e.g., selling products).

This plan is great if you’re starting small and don’t need advanced features.

2. Business Plan

  • The most popular plan, suitable for non-e-commerce websites or light e-commerce needs.

  • Includes unlimited contributors, custom CSS, advanced analytics, and email integration via Google Workspace.

  • 3% transaction fee on e-commerce transactions.

  • Supports selling products and services, along with built-in marketing tools.

I’ve been on the Business Plan for over seven years—it’s a great fit for most websites.

3. Basic Commerce Plan

  • Designed for those running an online store.

  • No transaction fees.

  • Additional e-commerce tools like customer accounts and limited advanced shipping features.

4. Advanced Commerce Plan

  • Perfect for high-volume stores or those needing advanced features.

  • Includes advanced shipping, automated discounts, abandoned cart recovery, and subscription product options.

  • Additional integrations for fulfillment and inventory management.

If your store revenue justifies the higher monthly cost, this plan is worth considering.

How to Choose the Right Plan

  • Personal Plan: Best for simple, individual projects.

  • Business Plan: Great for general websites or light e-commerce needs.

  • Commerce Plans: Necessary for serious online stores. Start with Basic Commerce, then upgrade to Advanced Commerce as your business grows.

How to Upgrade Your Trial to a Paid Plan

When your free trial ends, you can upgrade by clicking the "Subscribe" button at the bottom of your site’s dashboard. If you’ve already dismissed that option, go to your dashboard, click the gear icon, navigate to Billing > Subscriptions, and choose your plan.

Get an Extended Free Trial and Discount

If 14 days isn’t enough to build your site, I can offer a six-month free trial plus 20% off your first payment (at no extra cost to you - just a perk of signing up for my email list).
